"All-In-One" 6-digit Arduino Nixie Clock

The Single Digit Decatron Clock kit drives a single Decatron and draws a "clock display" on it by spinning point around the face rapidly, stopping for a moment longer when it wants to draw one of the "hands". The effect is mesmerising, and gives the warm neon glow that is distinctive of Nixies.

The clock is packed full of features, and at the end of the simple build you will have a beautiful Decatron Clock. Video manuals of the build are available to take you through step by step, and there is an extensive PDF reference manual.

The clock connects to your WiFi and reads the time periodically from Internet NTP servers, which offer a highly reliable time source. The clock also takes care of DST (Daylight Savings Time) and sets itself automatically when the time changes. Set the clock up once and never set it again!

This kit is based on a Wemos micro controller and if you want to, you can change the program and alter it to your needs. If you just want to use the clock, the controller comes pre-programmed and you don't need to program anything.

The Decatron tube is not included. You are able to find reliable, quick and cheap providers on Ebay. If you have a doubt, ask, and we will recommend someone.

The wall power supply is not included. You will need to get an external power supply (9VDC, center positive). Suitable mains wall power adapters are available on Ebay for around $3!

Tools, solder and some connecting wire is not included.

Full kit of parts: You get all of the electronic components on the PCB, as well as parts for mounting on the front panel of your case. If you want to use the onboard RTC (Real Time Clock) module so that the clock can remember the time and date even when turned off, you will need to add a CR1220 battery. (We are not allowed to post lithium batteries).

PCBs and controller: You get the main PCB, the display PCB for the Decatron and a pre-programmed controller. You will need to source all of the other parts, which are easily available from distributors or Ebay. We don't use very hard to find or special parts.

PCBs only: You get the main PCB and the display for the Decatron. You will need to source all of the other parts, which are easily available from distributors or Ebay. We don't use very hard to find or special parts. You will need to flash the controller with our code, or your own code. The code is open source and available on GitHub.
